Capes have become an integral part of my wardrobe and this seasons offerings are more extravagant than ever. They have become one of the coolest cover ups on the catwalk and on the high street. It is one chic piece that can do wonders for the simplest of wardrobes, transforming a casual look into an altogether high-fashion outfit in seconds.
As a gift to myself on my most recent birthday, I bought this Ox-Blood embroidered Boho cape from Forever 21..Since capes are something that can be worn throughout any season, I knew this was “The Cape” that I could pair with almost anything. Perfect in the summer over a pretty floral dress or Breton and cropped jeans or even for layering in the winter. Not only was it different from the other capes that I had but it also gave me a special feeling when I put it on.
Just last week, I wore this for a friends birthday dinner. Paired it up with black jeggings from Zara and a plain black top from Forever 21. Felt it was looking a bit incomplete so I added one of my favourite statement necklaces from Zara. This made it just perfect and added that extra finish to my look.
Summing it up, this laid-back look from the 1970s has had a big impact on this seasons styles n brands like Zara, H&M and Forever 21 (among others) would surely seem to agree.
Check out how I styled this look and don’t forget to “Cape-It-Up” this season. XoXo
